Composition per 100gms Water 23.3 Protein 0.56 Fats 0.30 Carbs 74.6. Sometimes in this day and age even rich whole foods and good veg have sprays and chemicals, one reason why people should detox. I take it you have read all about it, or are you just banging your drum because you dont know about it…

Lisacaseyjosh, whether its a weight loss die or a detox, it doesn’t change the fact that its nutritionally imbalanced, extremely low on protein and has no real food. Can someone tell me why you can’t just eat nutrient-rich whole foods to feel good? Matt

This is not a weight loss diet, this is a detox. The weight loss is just a side effect of the detox. I have just finished 10 days. I have never felt so good, For a better feeling within give it a go.

If you’ve been eating junk food and you rest from this for a day that makes sense, but if you’ve been eating healthy food you wouldn’t need to. Eating salads and light soups and vegetables for a day is a nutritional reset for a day that you could do just to switch you onto nutrient-rich food. I wouldn’t use this one though as a high proportion of sugar in the syrup.

You might meet your protein needs and you’d probably still lose weight but this doesn’t make it healthy.

I have often read that it is good for the body to abstain from food for one day, every so often, to give it a break. Would it be ok to use the lemon detox diet for this purpose…say, one day a month?

Thank you for posting information like this! There is no magic fix for your body. I hate that so many people will not accept that eating healthy and being active is the only way to be healthy and fit. Keep up the good work!

Sure, just eat broth or vegetable soup for a day, which will help press a nutritional reset button. This will help clean you out of the excesses of alcohol, nicotine or anything else you’d rather cut off of your lifestyle. After a day’s reset, provide your body with the best quality nutrient-rich food form all the food groups. This will help your body cleanse much better than anything that starves you of good nutrition. I’ve almost got a specific program ready for this, so please subscribe.

If you lose muscle mass its hard to gain it back, so I wouldn’t risk it. As soon as you come off a restrictive diet that you have been on for a few days, your metabolic rate will come out of starvation mode & increase. But if you do this sort of thing again & again I would expect your metabolism could slow down more permanantly.

I wanted to do the lemon cleanse (not to lose weight but to detoxify) and I was worried about losing muscle, so thanks for doing this in depth analysis on the cleanse. However, I still want to detoxify, so how can I get the detox that I am looking for if I shouldn’t do the lemon cleanse?

this doesn’t sound like the master cleanse diet though so what’s the difference between the two.
